4th Wall Brawl

4th Wall Brawl is a complete, self-contained vertical webcomic that plays with the metalanguage of comics, using the endless-scroll format of Webtoon-style series to break the fourth wall: characters fall out of their own panels and climb up and down the page itself, turning the format into part of the joke.

Script by Lucio Luiz, art by Flávio Luiz, finishes and lettering by Flavio Soares, and colors by Marco Pelandra and Will Rez. The comic was submitted to a 2022 Webtoon contest for action comics built around a fight between characters, with the top three entries earning a shot at becoming paid “Originals” creators for the platform.

The story was later reprinted in Portuguese as a physical book, Quebra-Quebra da Quarta Parede, released in 2023 in an unusual vertical format that mirrors the webcomic’s own scroll.
