The National Census of Comics and Graphic Humor Professionals 2025: Results and Discussions is the publication organized by Lucio Luiz and Guilherme Smee, gathering the results of the first comprehensive mapping of people working in comics and graphic humor in Brazil. The survey, conducted by Quadrinhopédia in partnership with the Comitê Nacional de Quadrinhos and the Quadrinistas Uni-Vos collective, collected 831 responses and produced a detailed profile by age, gender, race, region, income and professional activity, revealing that around 70% of professionals earn no income at all from the activity and that nearly 30% identify as part of the LGBTQIAPN+ community.
Beyond the quantitative data, the 174-page e-book includes a preface by Érico Assis and analytical essays by Amaro Braga, Anderson Shon, Dani Marino, Guilherme Smee, Lucio Luiz, Nataniel dos Santos Gomes, Sâmela Hidalgo and Zé Wellington, covering regional, racial and gender inequalities in the Brazilian comics market. The publication was supported by ASPAS, ACB, AQC-ESP, AQUARIOS, Rede Nordestina de HQs and Norte em Quadrinhos, and is available for free download on the Quadrinhopédia website.
