Super-heróis, Política e Identidades

An anthology gathering nine articles by researchers dedicated to the study of comics, also a result of the ASPAS International Meeting and the 7th National Forum of Sequential Art Researchers (November 2024, UEMS). The book draws on the idea that, as in the world of superheroes, “with great knowledge comes great responsibility”: the texts explore how the genre engages with identity, representation, gender, politics and power relations, from Bolivia’s Super Cholita to the Silver Surfer, by way of Batman, Jack Kirby’s Fourth World, and America Chavez.
